DODGERS VS. PHILLIES...2009

UNDER CONSTRUCTION...OPENING DAY... DODGER STADIUM... 3.31.08 : ***UNDER CONSTRUCTION... MANY MORE ARE ON THEIR WAY***

I said it a few days ago... and I will repeat it again today. Vin Scully stated on Saturday... that he was "An ordinary man who was given an extraordinary opportunity." I am no Vin Scully... but what an opportunity I had today, along with everyone else that was in attendance. Truly amazing.

I couldn't sum up my life any better than his statement. My life has truly been amazing... and to be able to experience history and an event like today... was incredible! If you grew up watching and rooting for a certain sports team... you know that it creates a certain "special feeling" that is hard to put into words. The Dodgers... were that team in the 1970's for me... that I was blessed to have witnessed and cheered for them in Los Angeles growing up.

It was great to see the same guys that I watched growing up... suited up... making their ways to their positions again. It was a day that I will never forget!

Going to Dodger Stadium as a kid, was personally, something that was better than going to Disneyland for me. It was a tough choice... but the imagination of simply getting on that field... with Garvey, Cey, Lopes, Russell and the others... was always something special to me. I wanted to be on that field with them! Hanging out near the Dodgers dugout, was always exciting to me! Being timid and shy... didn't help either... with getting bats and balls signed... but it was simply the experiences that I felt, on those warm summer afternoons.

If you were in the stadium today... and have a heart that was functioning at all... I can guarantee you... that your eyes became swollen... and tears began to fill your eyes! It was amazing!!! Watching all of our childhood favorite Dodger players... as their names were stated on the score boards... as they all made their ways to their old positions... was simply amazing to me!!!

Thanks to my new friend's that I talked with/met during the game... and to those older friends that enjoyed this great day as well!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION... LOS ANGELES MEMORIAL COLISEUM... LOS ANGLES DODGERS VS. BOSTON RED SOX... 3.28.08...115,300 RECORD BREAKING CROWD : ***MORE TO COME***

It was all about History... and simply being there to witness it.

Longtime announcer Vin Scully, who moved with the Dodgers from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, was honoured before the game. He referred to himself as "an ordinary man who was given an extraordinary opportunity."
I couldn't sum up my life an better than his statement. I am no Vin Scully... but what an opportunity I had today. My life has truly been amazing... and to be able to experience history and an event like today... was incredible. Tease me all you want... about wearing my Steve Garvey jersey with the accompanied white pants... it doesn't bother me a bit! Wish you could have been there as well!

To be one of the 115,300 people that enjoyed the atmosphere and the whole experience... is tough to put into words. The discussions that I was able to have and the pictures that I was able to take... all made up the greatness involved in Los Angeles that day.

It wasn't about who won or lost... it was about being there. For those that were there... no explanation is needed. But for those that need visual aids for guidance... these pictures are for you.

Thanks goes to everyone that made 3.29.08 possible!

Los Angeles Dodgers 2006 Rally... Universal City Walk... 10.2.06 : Half way through the day... I had read that The Rally would be held at The Universal City Walk… this time around. Once I left work... Universal... is where I was headed. It is always interesting to see the various types of fans that come out to support the Dodgers. This event... was no exception! ;)

There were a few highlights last night... but the highlight that a lot of the crowd witnessed... was after Steve had walk down the stage stairs... he had asked a boy if he owned a Dodgers jersey... he then signed and gave the jersey that he was wearing... to the young boy. Thankfully... I was right behind the boy and his Mother... and thanks to Steve posing for my camera/him and the boy's Mom... I was able to capture the special moment with my lens. The sequence of photos... can be seen down below. It was a very cool...touching moment. Especially when the crowd had noticed and applauded Steve for his sincerity and his graciousness towards his fans.
